B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2026
3.6

Facilities are good, but they should improve with time
Placements: 65% are placed last year, which has improved this year. Till now, 20% is placed without core companies having visited. The highest package last year is 20 LPA, and the average is 8 to 9 LPA. 7 to 8 students got internships last year in my batch, and many of them got PPO as well.
Infrastructure: Hostels like Mainpat and Kutumsar are for first year students. Facilities are good for the first year. There is no lift there, but overall, the food is good. However, the food from the second to 4th year hostel is allotted, whose food is not up to the mark, and I will rate it as 7/10. The canteen food is average, and the medical practitioners are very bad, not good at all. The building is okay.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified from IITS and NITs, but their teaching quality is not at all good. They are either too old or aggressive, the curriculum is the same as other colleges, but its not interesting at all. Semester exams are moderate to easy. Passing percentage is 35%.

B.Tech. in Information Technology - Batch of 2028
4.2

NIT Raipur is slightly equal to some IITs in India.
Placements: I secured an information technology branch in NIT Raipur, the second most top branch which is equally to CSE branch and consists of 114 students. As per 2024 data, nearly 87% of students are placed in top most companies. Average package is 18.5 LPA, and the highest is 60 LPA. Most students get internships in their 3rd and 4th years while studying.
Infrastructure: It is an old campus that has nearly 60 years of great history. But old infrastructure with greenish campus. There is a big cricket ground, and new built sports complex that consist of all indoor games we can play inside it. Every year, they will conduct a sports meet like a Shourya club. In IITs, there are smart class, lab, and workshop in their branches. There is a big library, and book store is available on campus.
Faculty: Teaching qualities are too good because all have done their Ph.D. Semester exams are moderate and easy. Pass percentage is nearly 94 to 99%.
Other: My course is information technology which is related to computer science and teaching related. Every year they celebrate many fests and events in months, like electrical is big mega event which is conducted in February. Most people enjoy it a lot.

B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2028
2.8
3Placements2Infrastructure2Faculty2Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
My experience in NIT. It is the best 2-tier college.
Placements: Data analyst and software-developed engineer roles are provided. In the chemical engineering field, students are offered with site engineer and junior engineer roles. Top core companies are ONGC, Asian Paints, Adani, etc. Tech top companies are TCS, Infosys, Despite, Microsoft, etc. 90% of students got placed last year.
Infrastructure: Not much infrastructure is there especially considering the national status of our college. A hostel is not available for every student. We have to arrange external accommodation on our own. I do not stay in the hostel so can't say about the quality of it.
Faculty: Faculty members are one of the worst. The curriculum also feels outdated by the years. Teachers are rude and egoistic. Hardly there is any time to study the immense exam schedules. Overall, there's very little time for gaining other skills like coding, programming, etc.
Other: Overall, placements are decent. If you are skilled enough, you will get a good job.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2028

Absolutely satisfied with college.
Placements: If you have a decent CGPA and good skills, you can get a very good package. The average package was around 14 LPA, and the highest was 52 LPA. Seniors have been helping very nicely, and the guidance you receive is very good. The course and curriculum are very nice.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi connection is really good in both college and hostels. Food facilities and security are very good for both boys and girls. There are a lot of places to have fun with friends, like the Gym, Amul, Vachan, etc. A lot of memories can be created here.
Faculty: Faculty is a little bit strict, just like everywhere, but at the end of the day, they help really well. Attendance is mandatory, with at least 75% required. Study well before the exams for a good CGPA, I would recommend. Apart from that, it's good. Professors are also great.
Other: It's good.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2026

Decent placements, strong academics, and active campus life.
Placements: I belong to the mechanical branch, batch of 2026. In my batch, around 90% of students are placed through campus recruitments. The highest package is around 22 LPA (mechanical specific). Average is around 7.5 LPA, and the lowest is around 5 LPA. Core recruiters include L&T, Tata Steel, JSW, etc. When it comes to internships, about 80-90% of students from our batch secured them through campus drives in core companies like Tata Steel, Tata Motors, CAT, etc. Top roles offered to mechanical grades are domains of plant operation, production management, maintenance, and mechanical design.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure has decent labs for design, manufacturing, and thermal subjects, CAD/CAM setup. Classrooms have projectors and Wi-Fi, though the internet can be patchy. Library is well-stocked and useful during exams. Hostels are simple mostly 2-3 sharing rooms with average mess food that could use more variety. There are canteens for quick snacks, a gym, sports ground, etc. Medical needs are handled at the campus health center with a doctor available. Overall, the facilities cover what you need but don't expect luxury.
Faculty: All teachers are well-qualified, with many holding PhDs and good industrial or research experience. Teaching quality varies some professors are engaging and supportive, while others stick to traditional methods. The curriculum covers mechanical subjects like design, manufacturing, and thermodynamics. Semester exams are moderately difficult, they test both theory and problem-solving. Most students who attend classes and study regularly can pass. The pass percentage is above 95%.
Other: I chose this course for its broad career scope and strong core engineering base. The best part is the solid foundation and placements. I wish there were more modern labs and updated software training. The campus hosts popular fests like Eclectika and Aavartan with good participation from across India. The student crowd is well-connected to the city, and the scholarships are available for eligible students.

Review of NIT Raipur - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: We have a separate committee that looks after placements. The placement is about 50% in my branch, I would say. But after getting placed, only 30% actually take up the job. The hiring process of the coordinators for this committee could use some changes. But it's okay overall.
Infrastructure: The hostel has very few seats. Also, it's not like hostels are very luxurious or anything. They are unhygienic. Sure, people survive and if given the chance, I would like to stay. But there are a lot of things that can be fixed. The college building and classrooms are average, I would say.
Faculty: They don't teach like they want us to become good engineer. They teach us enough that we get a taste of how everything is, not diving deep into anything. It's good and bad in some sense. The exams are good; they start and finish within a week so that's a plus point.
Other: I cannot say about other departments. But the permanent faculties of our department are very great at what they do. Their experience, passion for teaching and liking for the subject—everything reflects while they teach. It's safe to say I enjoy listening to their experiences.
